The David and Maria Russell Right Profit Association is an organisation which promotes musical initiatives twinned with humanitarian projects both in Africa and Italy, aiming to support communities experiencing dramatic circumstances.
These musical initiatives comprise both artistic events and the creation of long-term educational structures; on the one hand a concert season and an annual guitar festival, on the other the creation of the Right Profit Music Schools. Since 2005 these initiatives have financed the construction of eight water wells on East Africa. Furthermore, they have enabled the Association to provide guitar courses in a variety of social-rehabilitation institutions. All the activities of the Association must adhere to "Right Profit" ethics, ensuring that the work of teachers and artists is remunerated in a fair way. Moreover, Right Profit Music Schools offer young teachers the opportunity to earn an honest living while making a worthwile contribution to both local and remote social development. |
